Jewish Gateways Purim Celebration for Families with Young Children

This event is expired.

March 11, 10:30am to 12:00pm

Join other families in a cozy and welcoming environment to celebrate this joyful Jewish costume holiday. We'll sing silly Purim songs and hear how brave Queen Esther saved the day, led by Rabbi Bridget and beloved Jewish songleader Isaac Zones. We'll also enjoy a hands-on service project, yummy Purim treats, and more. We encourage children and adults to come in costume. A silly hat or your shirt on backwards works great!

This is the first event in Jewish Gateways' new series of HandsOn Holidays celebrations for families with young children. These events are for children 0-5 and their grownups. Older siblings are welcome. Enjoy the participatory, small group setting, which offers the beauty of a havurah (friendship group) with the flexibility and diversity that's right for modern families.

All are welcome, including interfaith, LGBTQ, and adoptive families; single parents; and grandparents. No Jewish knowledge or experience is necessary. Feel free to invite friends who might be interested!

Please consider helping local homeless youth by bringing nutrition bars or cold cereal to donate to YEAH!, Berkeley's shelter for youth engagement, advocacy, and housing.

Please save the date for our HandsOn Holidays Passover celebration, Sunday, April 9, 10:30am-noon.

Presented in collaboration with Sprout and PJ Library.

$25 per family.

Presented by Jewish Gateways.
