The band is led by Little Folkies creator Irena Eide and her band who will perform Little Folkies original songs and a sweet collection of old traditional folk songs for children.
Inspired by a wide array of music and styles including the children's music of Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Ella Jenkins, Jean Ritchie, Ruth Crawford Seeger's "American Folk Songs For Children", David Grisman and Jerry Garcia's "Not For Kids Only", Doc Watson's "Songs for little pickers" and more. The Little Folkies Family Band plays a repertoire of joyful and danceable tunes enjoyable for children & grown-ups alike.
The NEW Little Folkies recordings will be for sale at the concert and feature bluegrass legends such as Peter Rowan (Bill Monroe, Old And In The Way), Blaine Sprouse (Bill Monroe, The Osbourne Brothers, Jimmie Martin), Sharon Gilchrist (Peter Rowan Tony Rice Quartet, Uncle Earl), Paul Knight (Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band) and many more.
