This event is expired.
April 8, 11am & 2pm
Latin Grammy Award winners Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band will kick off the big three-weekend long Youth Music Festival with two matinee performances on Saturday, April 8, at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the Firehouse Arts Center Theatre in Pleasanton. The City of Pleasanton's newly launched High School Music Collaborative will join Lucky in both shows for a couple of songs, notes City of Pleasanton HSMC guru Mark Duncanson.
Winning the Latin Grammy Award in 2013 for Best Children's Album for "Fantastico!" was a banner achievement for the band, being the first time an American group has ever won in the children's album category. More Grammy nominations followed, and in 2015 the group garnered three Emmy Award Nominations for their popular PBS TV show "Lishy Lou and Lucky Too"... and got a win!
Frequent live TV appearances on Sprout, CNN, and Univision, along with nation-wide touring, have earned the group the following plaudits: 'THE face of kindie music' by the Washington Post; 'SUPERSTARS' by Red Tricycle; 'The Rolling Stones of Kids Music' by the Style Network; and PEOPLE Magazine called their album "The #1 in COOLEST kids music!"
Lucky Diaz and Alisha Gaddis, a married couple, are the heart and soul of The Family Jam Band, creating indie music sounds that are rooted in kid-friendly whimsies and imagination. The songs on their five award winning recordings, offer a wide variety of musical stylings, aimed at exploring the joy and wonder of a young person's life.
From the outset with their debut album, "Luckiest Adventure," to their consecutive #1 songs and albums ("Oh Lucky Day," "A Potluck") - they have enjoyed rave reviews and heavy radio rotation not only nationwide, but worldwide.
General seat tickets: $12 Adult, $10 Student.
