Marin County Fair

This event is expired.

This year, the Fair celebrates Marin County and all of its colorful traditions and innovations and highlights what residents love most about their local fair, like thrilling rides, popular concerts, farm animals, family activities, amazing exhibis, and a spectacular nightly fireworks display. This year's theme also echoes Hunter S. Thompson's quote “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!”

Events and attractions include traditional fair offerings like farm animal exhibits and demonstrations and Great American pig racing in the barnyard, free (with fair admission) rides and carnival games—including the 10-story Giant Wheel and the Marin Clean Energy solar-powered carousel. You'll also experience performances by the Chinese Circus of Beijing and the Something Ridiculous comedy juggling duo, appearances by the ever-popular Imperial Storm Troopers of the 501st Legion Golden Gate Garrison, fantastic concerts, short films and videos, demonstrations on the Blue Ribbon Stage, over 800 new and returning exhibits, and the Fair's biggest and most elaborate fireworks display ever, presented nightly over the lagoon at 9:30 pm.

This year's Marin County Fair runs from Thursday, June 30 through Monday, July 4, from 11 am to 11 pm daily. The exhibit hall and auditorium close at 9:30 pm; the carnival stays open until 11 pm.
