Marin’s Salmon and Steelhead
This event is expired.
Rangers Gabe Ngarangad and Craig Solin will lead a family friendly hike along Lagunitas Creek in San Geronimo. If Mother Nature cooperates, we’ll witness one of Marin’s natural treasures: steelhead and coho salmon returning from the sea. Learn about the fish’s life cycle, the efforts to restore local populations, and some of the interesting local history. This event is ideal for all ages. Degree of difficulty: Easy. Wear comfortable athletic clothing and sturdy shoes. Don’t forget to bring binoculars if you have them. We will provide water and healthy snacks. No pets (except service animals) are allowed. Rain or heavy winds will cancel. Meet at the Leo T. Cronin Fish Viewing Area west of Lagunitas.
DIRECTIONS: From Hwy 101 in Larkspur, take the exit for Sir Francis Drake Blvd west 13.6 miles, the parking area is on the left (just past Shafter Bridge).
