Nature for Kids: Bahia

This open oak woodland at the edge of the San Pablo Bay wetlands is a fabulous spring destination. Wildflowers dot the lush grassland, the fresh leaves of the trees are alive with birds, and there are always butterflies patrolling the road that runs along the ridge. We’ll head to a nice clearing at the top where the kids can explore, while we let the birds and butterflies come to us. Remember to bring lunch. DIRECTIONS: From Hwy 101 in Novato, take the exit for Atherton Ave east approximately 1 mile. Turn left onto Bugeia Ln, which turns into Bahia Dr at the “y”. Follow Bahia Dr approximately 0.5 miles. Trailhead is on the left before Bahia Dr dead ends.
