Opera for Families

Opera for Families will get the next generation excited about opera and spread its magic among children of all ages in a way that is up-to-date, fascinating and fun!
Opera singers and a pianist will perform a selection of pieces from operas and musicals. Their performance will be enhanced with insightful explanations, role-playing games and exercises to help the young audience explore different aspects of opera. The program has been performed hundreds of times, receiving rave reviews for being a fascinating, enriching and unforgettable experience.
The performers are:
Efrat Levy, the creator of Opera for Families, performs regularly with opera singers and chamber ensembles all over the world. She works as a corepetitor at the Israeli Opera house and the State-Opera in Berlin. Enthusiastic about the idea of exposing young children to the wonders of opera, Efrat created this interactive musical program and performs in pre-schools throughout Berlin, Israel and California.
Amy Foote has sung an expansive repertoire, ranging from leading roles on the operatic stage to world premieres of contemporary chamber music. She recently performed Cunegonde from Bernstein's "Candide" and will perform the role of Vixen in Jana?ek's "Cunning Little Vixen" this summer. Her operatic voice was deemed "most impressive [with] accuracy, musicality and diction" by the "San Francisco Classical Voice."
Deborah Rosengaus is a native of the Bay Area. She has performed internationally as well as across the U.S. She regularly performs in opera and musical theater.
Ryan Bradford recently appeared as Jake Wallace and Sid ("La Fanciulla del West"). He sang Masetto in "Don Giovanni" and has covered the title role. He has been hailed as an "outstanding baritone" by "Oregon Music News."
