In 2006, Artistic Director Sherene Melania received a copy of Ghassan Kanafani’s The Little Lantern Ballet®. She fell in love with the story immediately, seeing its ability to present global issues and shared solutions. The story explores the way in which collaboration, despite social standing or preexisting borders, can transcend difficult circumstances, establishing a sense of unity.
