Robert McDermott to speak at Marin Waldorf School

What led the Austrian philosopher, Rudolf Steiner, to bring forth Waldorf Education at the end of World War 1 and why is it thriving in over 1000 public and private schools across the world today? Dr. Robert McDermott will address these questions in an evening presentation for parents, educators and the general public on June 3, 7:00-8:30 pm at the Marin Waldorf School, 755 Idlyberry Road, San Rafael. The event is free.

Dr. McDermott is President Emeritus of the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) and chair of the CIIS program in Philosophy and Religion. His books include The Essential Aurobindo, The Bhagavad Gita and the West, American Philosophy and Rudolf Steiner, and The New Essential Steiner. He has recently been appointed co-director of Rudolf Steiner College’s San Francisco Waldorf Teacher Education Program. Notably, he was the founding Board Chair of the Sophia Project for Mothers and Children at Risk of Homelessness in West Oakland and San Rafael.
