Shabbat in the Park for Families with Young Children

This event is expired.

Join Rabbi Bridget and other families with young children to connect, play, and relax at a casual Shabbat hangout in the park.

We'll supply the challah and grape juice, and have available Shabbat-oriented toys, books, and music. We'll also offer a Shabbat treasure hunt and a hands-on project.

Bring snacks if you want, and join us any time between 10am and noon.

There are picnic tables and we'll have blankets available for those who want to sit on the grass.

This event is especially for families with children 1-5, and older or younger siblings are welcome, too.

Enjoy the participatory, small group setting, which offers the beauty of a havurah (friendship group) with the flexibility and diversity that's right for modern families.

Feel free to invite friends!

WHERE: Totland Park, McGee Avenue and Virginia Street, Berkeley.

WHO: All are welcome, including interfaith, LGBTQ, and adoptive families; single parents; and grandparents. No Jewish knowledge or experience is necessary.

HOW: Register and we will send you an email reminder, or just show up on May 20.

QUESTIONS: Contact Rabbi Bridget Wynne at rabbibridget@jewishgateways.org or 510-410-0622.

Presented in collaboration with Sprout, PJ Library, and InterfaithFamily.
