This event is expired.

Join us at Barnes & Noble this weekend and check out part of an amazing collection of U.S., Russian, and Soviet space exploration artifacts – all thanks to the Space Station Museum volunteers who join us for their Bookfair Fundraiser:

Friday, September 25 from 5pm-8pm;

Saturday, September 26 from 11am to 3pm;

Sunday, September 27 from 11am to 3pm.

Support The Space Station Museum by shopping at Barnes & Noble in Corte Madera, California! The Space Station Museum, whose mission is to provide “permanent space exhibits in the Bay Area to help educate children about the exciting history of space exploration, and to increase the public’s understanding that a strong global commitment toward future space travel is an important key to accelerating our civilization’s development,” and whose emphasis is on “the history of space exploration, and how discoveries in science and technology allowed the U.S. to be a leader in space travel” is working together with Barnes & Noble Booksellers by hosting a Bookfair at the Barnes & Noble Corte Madera store.

Friday through Sunday, September 25-27, 2015, Barnes & Noble will donate a percentage of every sale made with a special Bookfair voucher (Voucher #11709896 ) to The Space Station Museum! Vouchers will be available online at The Space Station Museum website http://thespacestationca.org. Customers and supporters are encouraged to shop throughout the store to support The Space Station Museum by shopping at Barnes & Noble Corte Madera, other Barnes & Noble locations, or online at www.bn.com.

The Space Station Museum feels its work is especially important in California, because this state was the birthplace of America’s spacecraft such as the X-Planes, the Apollo Command Module, the Space Shuttle, the Hubble Telescope, Spaceship One, the Space X Falcon Rocket and the robotic rovers that are currently roaming Mars. The museum owns one of the largest private collections of U.S., Russian, and Soviet space exploration artifacts. A selection of the artifacts will be available for viewing at Barnes & Noble Corte Madera on Friday, September 25 from 5pm to 8pm; Saturday, September 26 from 11am to 3pm; and Sunday, September 27 from 11am to 3pm.

The entire community is also invited to attend a Discussion and Book Signing with New York Times bestselling author and Hugo, Nebula, and Locus Award-Winner Kim Stanley Robinson at Barnes & Noble Corte Madera on Friday, September 25 at 7:00pm. Mr. Robinson will be sharing his latest novel, Aurora. The event is free and open to the public.
