Wake Up! Parenting As a Path of Practice

This event is expired.

Led by Will Kabat-Zinn, Teresa LaMendola Kabat-Zinn:
Bring a friend for free when you pre-register!

As parents, how do we stay awake, present and balanced in the midst of nearly continuous change and activity while tending to the needs of our children and families? How can we bring curiosity and mindfulness to our everyday interactions with our children and ourselves? How do we wake up to what is deepest and most essential in ourselves while engaging in the bustle of raising a family?

In this daylong retreat, we will explore how to bring mindful attention and an attitude of inquiry into the particulars of life as a parent using our capacity for present moment awareness to see deeply into our own hearts and minds. We will look into our own conditioned patterns, behavior and attachments as parents and see through these patterns into the wakeful stillness that underlies all experience.

To wake up to and abide in our own deepest nature while doing dishes and getting kids to school on time is to live the unity of form and emptiness. The ultimate does not have to wait for silent retreat, lets wake up now!

In this daylong there will be periods of formal meditation practice and instruction and time for lively dialogue on the important topic of how to fully integrate mindfulness practice into our lives and our parenting.

Young Adults (18-26) and Seniors (65+ with limited income) are invited to attend this day for $45.
