child care wanted

Hi - I am looking for child care for my 2.5 month old son. We would like to have someone in place when he gets to be 3 months. I am loking for somone to start part-time with the possiblilty of a full-time position once my son is older.

My son has acid reflux so I am looking for someone who has experience with newborns.

Thanks,

Katie

Hello Marin Mommies: I just

Hello Marin Mommies:

I just enrolled my 2 1/2 year old son in an amazing pre-school called Early Discovery in San Rafael. He was originally attending a reputable pre-school in Marin, but as the class size increased over the fall, he began to socially withdraw and started to protest going. A friend in my profession, mental health, recommended that I speak to Nouzha at Early Discovery. When we met Nouzha we immediately felt her warmth and nurturing style. But more importantly, the in-home atmosphere embodied a safe, educational, and encouraging environment, not withstanding that she is an expert in child development as she is currently obtaining her Ph.D. in early childhood education. Her school is very small, up to 6 children ranging in age from 3 months to 5-years-old, my son is with children 2-4 years-old on Tue & Thur. Her approach is a combination of Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and Waldorf -- taking all the best from those studies. Over the last month, a part of the science curriculum was observing the life cycle of butterflies from cocoon into full winged butterflies. My son was so excited and we could clearly see a new interest emerging in science; exactly what a mom and dad would hope for. I recommend Early Discovery without reservation.

In addition, if you need consultation regarding parenting, problematic behaviors, or any early childhood developmental concerns, Nouzha also serves as a consultant in these area’s. You can check out her web site at www.earlydiscovery.org.

best regards,

Bernadette
