Family-Friendly Brunch Spots in Marin
Sunday Brunch is a favorite way to spend a lazy late morning. Finding a great brunch spot that welcomes families with kids can be a little challenging, but fortunately, we have a great selection of family-friendly restaurants in Marin that offer Sunday or weekend brunch or breakfast.
Here are a dozen of our favorite places for brunch, listed from north so south, more or less. All of the restaurants on our list offer children's menus or are inexpensive enough for a Sunday brunch outing with the entire family. Hours and offerings vary, so make sure you check a restaurant's website before you go.
- Golden Egg Omelet House has been a Novato institution for decades. We come here for the 101 different omelets, but our kids love the Mickey Mouse pancakes. Open daily 7 am–3 pm at 807 Grant Avenue.
- Finnegans Marin is popular for its pub-like atmosphere and kids' menu, and offers brunch on weekends from 10 am–2:30 pm. (Kids eat free on Sunday night, too.) Find them at 877 Grant Avenue.
- Station House Cafe in Point Reyes Station is a great place to fuel up before a Sunday afternoon hike. Their breakfast fare features lots of local ingredients from West Marin farms and even vegetables from their own garden, and is served from 8 am–11 am (many of the menu items carry over to lunch, too). The Station House is on Point Reyes' main drag at 11180 Highway One.
- Lighthouse Diner dishes up classic diner fare as well as Danish cuisine at locations in downtown San Rafael (in the Rafael Town Center at 1016 Court Street) and Sausalito (1311 Bridgeway).
- Barefoot Cafe is a Fairfax family favorite located at 1900 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard that serves brunch made from locally grown ingredients from 7 am–3 pm.
- Insalata's at 120 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in the heart of San Anselmo offers a Sunday brunch with both tasty Mediterranean-inspired cuisine as well as more traditional brunch fare, and a kids' menu, too.

- Half-Day Cafe, across the street from College of Marin at 848 College Avenue in Kentfield, has been a Marin County favorite since the 1980s. Housed in a 1930s brick building that was once a garage, the Half Day Cafe offers brunch on weekends from 8 am–2:30 pm and breakfast on weekdays starting at 7 am.
- Sam's Anchor Cafe in Tiburon offers bayside dining for brunch on weekends from 9:30 am–2 pm. On nice days you can dine outside. You can also sail to the restaurant and tie your boat up at Sam's private docks.
