Holiday Fun at the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa

Families will find holiday fun for everyone this season at the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa! The museum’s annual Thanksgiving Feast with Snoopy event returns on Saturday, November 16, featuring a visit from Snoopy himself. On November 29 and 30, visitors of all ages can enjoy Family Fun Weekend featuring drop-in cartoon workshops led by Joe Wos. The museum and the Jewish Concierge of Sonoma County to present Hands-on Chanukah on Sunday, December 8, and the holiday season culminates on December 31—New Year's Eve—with Happy New Year, Charlie Brown!; this popular balloon drop and root beer toast that has become a local tradition for many families. You can also check out the museum’s current exhibition all about Snoopy’s feathered friend, Peace, Love, and Woodstock, on view through March 8.

If you haven't been to the Schulz Museum, now's the time to plan a visit! There's so much to do there, and you can even take the SMART train there—it's close the Santa Rosa North Station. The museum is also adjacent to Snoopy's Home Ice, which has just re-opened after an extensive renovation.

2019 Family & Holiday Events at the Schulz Museum 

Thanksgiving Feast with Snoopy
Saturday, November 16, 1–4 pm

Re-create Snoopy's Thanksgiving meal of toast, popcorn, and jelly beans from the classic television holiday special, topped off with an ice cream dessert (while supplies last) courtesy of Coldstone Creamery of Sonoma County. Also enjoy hands-on crafts and other fun family activities throughout the Museum. Event is included with admission; bring two cans of food to donate to the Redwood Empire Food Bank in exchange for one free child's admission. Thanksgiving Week Classes for Kids
November 25–27

Family Fun Weekend
Friday, November 29 and Saturday, November 30, 10 am–5 pm

Join cartoonist and storyteller Joe Wos for live storytelling performances and cartoon workshops throughout the day! Event is included with admission. Find out more about this Family Fun Weekend here.

Hands-on Chanukah
Sunday, December 8, 10 am–noon

Join the Jewish Concierge of Sonoma County and PJ Library to celebrate Chanukah with dreidel spinning contests, marshmallow-dreidel decorating, candle making, a free gift raffle, and a performance by children’s entertainer Diana Shmiana. Receive free admission when you say "Hands-on-Chanukah!" at the front desk.

Gingerbread Doghouse Workshops
Saturday, December 14, 10 am–noon (Parent & Child: Pre-K and up)

Kids Night at the Museum
Saturday, December 14, 5–9 pm

Get your holiday shopping done while the kids enjoy after-hours fun at the Schulz Museum, including a pizza dinner, games, cartooning, and holiday crafts! Recommended for ages 5-10. Discount of $5 off for siblings. Advance registration required—register online or call (707) 284-1272.

Holiday Gift-Making Workshop (Grades K–6)

Happy New Year, Charlie Brown!
Tuesday, December 31, 10 am–4 pm

Ring in the New Year with hands-on crafts for kids and Santa Rosa’s only up-down and baby balloon drops at Noon, and a celebratory toast with root beer at Noon and 3:00 pm! Plus, enjoy a visit from Snoopy himself and special showings of Happy New Year, Charlie Brown in the Museum’s theater. Event is included with admission. Find out more here.
