I hope I am posting in the right forum, I just joined tonight. After years as a literacy consultant with Oakland Unified School District I am creating a unique literary after school program in Marin, either in Mill Valley or Ross, that would be contained in a world class library of the finest literature that I have been building for 15 years. After three years of searching I have finally found two locations suitable, one in Mill Valley and one in Ross. The ASP would be for all ages 5-18, and would provide an in-depth exposure to thousands of books and all manner of printed materials (old manuscripts, calligraphy, rare books, maps, etc).

Though I will be offering numerous classes and events, the program will emphasize unstructured time with books, i.e. browsing and "hanging out" with amazing books, a place where kids can serendipitously discover and learn in their own way at their own pace, with help from my tutors and seasoned educators. I would like to get input from parents, does this sound like an attractive idea? Are you having trouble finding quality after school programs? Is there an online list of other ASP in Marin?
