Whether this is your first orchestral experience or you're a concert hall veteran, the Marin Symphony Family Concert has something for you! This fun family musical event takes place at the Marin Veterans' Memorial Auditorium in San Rafael on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 3 pm, and includes musical gems like Prokofiev's timeless Peter and the Wolf, Elgar's Cello Concerto in E Minor, and excerpts from Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, as well as the ever-popular Instrument Petting Zoo.

Directed by maestro Alasdair Neale, the family concert program features members of the Marin Symphony Youth Orchestra performing alongside Marin Symphony professionals; Sadie Mickelson, winner of the MSYO Concerto Competition; and Peter and the Wolf narration by KALW radio personality David Latulippe.

Following the Family Concert, come to the Redwood Foyer, where Marin Symphony Youth Orchestra musicians assist aspiring young artists at the traditional Instrument Petting Zoo. Children are encouraged to try out orchestral instruments, including brass, woodwinds, and strings!

If you haven’t been to one of the Marin Symphony’s Family Concerts yet, you really owe it to yourself to check one out. We've attended them and had a great time, and the Instrument Petting Zoo is a wonderful bonus that the kids really enjoyed.

Reserved-seating tickets start at $20 for adults and $15 for youth 6 to 17 (plus fees). To order tickets, visit the Marin Center website, call (415) 473-6800, or buy in person at the Marin Center Box Office. The Marin Veterans' Memorial Auditorium is located at 10 Avenue of the Flags in San Rafael 94903. For more information visit www.marinsymphony.org
