Sailing Education Adventures’ Sail Camp

Sailing Education Adventures (SEA) is the Bay Area’s premier Non-Profit community sailing organization and has been delivering quality sailing education for over 40 years.
Our Sail Camps are one of the best ways for children to learn to sail in The Bay Area. SEA offers intensive instruction on 14’ sailboats, as well as lessons on boat safety and seamanship. And most importantly, Sail Camp fosters teamwork and self reliance.
Our 2025 Camp Sessions include:
Mini Camp Introductory:
- Location: Loch Lomond Marina, San Rafael
- Hours: 9 am - 12:30 pm
- Ages: 8 - 10
- Session 1: June 16 - 20 Session 3: July 14 - 18
One-week, half-day sessions to introduce younger children to sailing. Light morning breezes give younger children an opportunity to start learning about wind, water, safety and fun. Youths are taught basic sailing skills by our experienced staff. In safe conditions, children are encouraged to sail in pairs without counselors by the end of their training.
Mini Camp Advanced:
- Location: Loch Lomond Marina, San Rafael
- Days: Monday - Friday, One week
- Hours: 9 - 3pm
- Ages: 8 - 10
- Session 1: July 28 - August 1
- Session 2: August 4 - 8
This camp is for returning Mini Campers who have participated in Mini Camp in previous years but may still be too young to move into the full Basic/Intermediate Sail Camp sessions. This Advanced Mini Camp will build on prior experience and allow campers to do more advanced sailing in the stronger afternoon winds. As opposed to Introductory Mini Camp, the goal will be to get students comfortable sailing on their own with counselor assistance from a safety boat close by thus teaching students self-confidence and problem-solving skills along with refining their sailing technique.
Basic/Intermediate:
- Location Marin Yacht Club, San Rafael
- Days: Monday - Friday, Two weeks.
- Hours: 9-4pm
- Ages: 11-16
- Session 1: June 16 - 27
- Session 2: June 30 - July 11
- Session 3: July 14 - 25
- Session 4: July 28 - August 8
Basic introduces new sailors to boat handling and the principles of sailing. Intermediate campers who have mastered basic skills will be challenged with more skill-building in single-handing and responsibility by building leadership skills. The full-day sessions (Monday through Friday) concentrate on sailing, boating safety, and teamwork. Parents, campers, instructors, and friends will celebrate the end of Basic Sail Camp at a graduation held at Marin Yacht Club where certificates and awards will be presented.
Advanced:
- Location: Loch Lomond Marina, San Rafael
- Days: Monday - Friday, One week
- Hours: 1 - 4pm

Advanced sailors looking for more intense sailing can sail our sloop-rigged RS Quests. Campers will be challenged by performance sailing, longer voyages, and an introduction to racing.
