Ross Valley Mothers Club Community Playgroup Kick-Off Events!

Hoping to meet some new friends before starting at a new school in the fall? Want to get to know your neighbors but don't know how to start the conversation? New members of the community, mothers, fathers, and families are invited to stop by one of the new community-based playgroup events being sponsored by the Ross Valley Mothers Club. The Ross Valley Mothers Club (RVMC) is dedicated to bringing children and families together, in a fun, friendly community based setting. Each new sign up will be given a RVMC tote bag and treats!

Sponsors Marin Coffee Roasters, Sugar Mama Cookies, and Fat Angel Bakery have graciously provided snacks for these event.

Location schedule:

All Playgroup Kick-off events are from 10 am-noon

• April 21—Memorial Park in San Anselmo (for Ross, Wade Thomas and Brookside Elementary Schools)
• April 28—Gerstle Park on San Rafael Avenue in San Rafael (for Glenwood, Coleman and Sun Valley Schools)
• May 5—Hal Brown Park at Creekside On Bon Air Road in Greenbrae (for Bacich)
• May 12—Peri Park in Fairfax (for Manor and Brookside Schools)

RVMC community playgroups have been formed and organized in hopes families and neighbors will be able to meet and make relationships before or while their children attend the local schools. The RVMC supports its members by fostering encouragement, fun, and friendship for children, families, and community. The purpose of the RVMC is to provide educational programs, social events, and playgroups where mothers can seek support, information, and friendship while raising young children.

In 2011–2012 the RVMC had over 375 members, and attendance rates for our big events, like the Halloween and holiday parties, were the highest ever. This year RVMC social events included trips to the pumpkin patches, an outdoor adventure at Crissy Field, a trip to Draper Farms, kiddie bowling in San Rafael, high tea for moms at Cavallo Point, and moms nights out at restaurants including Lotus Chaat & Spices, 123 Bolinas, and Marinitas.
