We have truly the most wonderful nanny, Alma, who's been taking care of our son since he was about 8 months old (he's now one and a half). Our son will be joining his older sister at daycare in June, and we would love to help Alma find a great family because we feel incredibly lucky to have had her as part of our family this past year.

We were planning to start our son at daycare with his older sister when he was 8 months old but unfortunately our son had some serious medical issues that prevented him from going to daycare until this June. Given our sons' medical issues, we were nervous about the prospect of finding a nanny but from the second we met Alma, we immediately knew it was a perfect fit and could relax knowing that our son was in incredibly responsible and loving hands. She loves children (has 3 of her own) and immediately engaged with our son and drew a huge smile to his face (which he still does each morning when she arrives). In addition to being attentive to our sons' medical needs (and administering inhalers and different medications daily), she also showered our son with love everyday and helped teach him language skills (both English and Spanish!) and engaged with him through music, reading and other activities. She has a background in early education so it was like having a private preschool teacher all day every day. On days where our daughter could not attend day care, Alma graciously watched both kids and did a fantastic job. Whenever our son was napping, Alma was really helpful around the house and was willing to do household chores. She also has a car and is CPR certified.

Alma is wonderful, flexible with time, incredibly loving, and makes wonderful home-cooked, healthy meals. We couldn't be happier with how nurturing, loving, and responsible Alma was. We are anxious to help Alma find a family because she is wonderful and it is difficult for us to think of not seeing her every day. The only reason we are having our son start at daycare is because he is now medically capable and we would like him to be at the same school as our daughter.

With respect to timing, Alma watched our son from 8am-4pm five days a week and is looking for similar hours. She charges $20 per hour for one child, $25 per hour for two children, or $30 for three children and she is open to a nanny share.

Alma lives in San Rafael and has worked with many families in Marin. We spoke with a number of her references before we decided to hire her and they all provided glowing reviews.
