My name is Kendall Hickey and I am writing to give my husband and my wholehearted recommendation for the employment of Carmen (Virginia) DeVasquez. Carmen is a highly intelligent, experienced, and utterly professional nanny. She worked with us for six months and we will never be able to repay her for the love and care she gave our two young sons. But for my parents retiring and offering to help with our childcare needs, we would happily have continued her employment.

Carmen worked Monday, Wednesday, Fridays for us, caring for our boys (one and two years old) in and outside of our home, providing all care necessary. I felt entirely comfortable with Carmen taking our children around town on her own and she even helped to care for them while my husband and I were traveling. Carmen is mindful, focused, and has excellent judgment. She never hesitated to ask questions or call when she had a concern.

And while we do have a housekeeper for heavy cleaning (bathrooms, floors, etc.), Carmen helped us to keep the house in order. She helped with laundry, dishes, sweeping, cleaning all the boys' things, etc. The house always looked spotless when she left for the evening.

We asked Carmen to speak to our children in Spanish and in only six months time they can understand her and even respond in Spanish themselves at times. In addition, Carmen’s English is comprehensive. We were proud to see her become an American citizen during her time with us.
