Sage Educators is back in action this summer with awesome day camps and shorter enrichment workshops! For students grades K-5, we're back with our much-loved Nature Navigators Day Camp, an outdoor science exploration camp. For students in grades 6-9, we're excited to introduce our Science of Surfing Day Camp, mixing fun science lessons with surf instruction at Bolinas Beach. In addition to these new summer camps, Sage will offer its regular summer academic workshops, and a brand new workshop, 3D Modeling. We'll also have our for-credit classes, test preparation, and one-on-one tutoring online all summer long. Rest assured that Sage is following every health and safety regulation to keep your families and our staff as safe as possible.

K-5: Nature Navigators

Join our Nature Navigators day camp, designed for K-5, and take part in fun, hands-on, outdoor science activities! In this camp, students will become nature scientists while moving through four distinct themes. With topics ranging from Naturalist Skills, to California Geography and Natural History, to Nature Art, kids with all different interests are sure to be engaged and excited by our outdoor curriculum.

With an emphasis on experiential learning, campers will learn how to make and record observations, collect and interpret scientific data, and use art as a means of interpreting nature. If you are looking to take outdoor exploration, imagination, & fun to the next level, this is the summer camp for you! Weekly sessions June 21-August 13. More details at

Grades 6-9 Science of Surfing

Science can be touchable. Science can be breakable! In our case, science is suiting up and going surfing, but not before we learn about the physics that makes it all possible!

In our Science of Surfing camp, students in grades 6-9 will learn the fundamentals of surfing with a certified surf instructor. And when we’re not in the water, we’ll bring the beach to us, learning about waves by generating them in our tiny “ocean” wave tank. Through experimentation, modeling, and hands-on experience, students will gain a basic understanding of surf science, ocean waves, and physics concepts taught in middle school and 9th grade.

This three-week camp is designed for students to gain a deeper knowledge of concepts, building on a foundation each additional week. Week one will focus on the forces that keep the surfer on the wave and surfboard design. Week two will follow the life cycle of waves and investigate the factors that make waves ideal for surfing. Week three is for our physics and water enthusiasts, where we’ll dive deeper into student areas of interest by investigating essential questions and creating final projects to be reviewed by our peers!
