Theatre Classes for Youth and Teens at Marin Shakespeare Company

Marin Shakespeare Company

Marin Mommies presents a sponsored shout-out from Marin Shakespeare Company.

“All the world’s a stage,” for young performers!

On October 2, Marin Shakespeare launches theatre classes for youth and teens at their newly renovated indoor space at 514 Fourth Street in San Rafael.  Young performers of all ages and experience levels will find something to interest them, as they build confidence, develop empathy and tolerance, and improve their written and spoken language skills.

Check out these cool offerings: Teens (12–19) will create original works that explore the intersection of theatre and activism in Theatre for Change, and learn techniques to create exciting (and safe) violence for the stage in Stage Combat. Performers 8–12 years old will stretch their bodies, voices, and imaginations in Actor’s Toolbox and 5–7-year-olds will explore stories, poems, music, and movement in Creative Storytelling. All classes are led by professional theatre artists.

And coming up in winter 2024, Teen Touring Company presents A Midsummer Night's Dream.  Auditions for actors 12–19 are scheduled for the end of November.

Marin Shakespeare Company has been producing award-winning theatre productions for more than 30 years, alongside fantastic Shakespeare camps, educational programs in schools, and drama-therapy-based programs in California prisons.
