I have two little ones and we are moving to Marin County from the UK. I've just found out that my eldest would only be old enough to go to nursery in the US on Tuesday and Thursday mornings (here she would be in nursery five days a week from 9-3pm) The following year, she would go to school on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays and my youngest would start going on Tuesdays and Thursday. So they would alternate going to school which seems like the worst of all worlds.

How do families make this work? How do you explain every day whose turn it is to go to school without upsetting one or the other. What do you do with the child who doesn't get to go to school? Is it just yet more endless rounds of random art/music classes?
