Unique Birthday Party Locations in Marin

birthday partyBirthday parties—and unique and interesting places to have them—are a popular subject on this web site. Coincidentally, we’ve been planning a 4th birthday party for our son, so I’ve had the chance to do a lot of research. Here are a few suggestions for fun and out-of-the-ordinary children’s party venues in Marin:

What’s Cooking, an educational food and cooking resource here in Marin, offers not only in-home cooking workshops and classes, but a variety of birthday parties as well. For children 3–5, What’s Cooking offers Mommy/Daddy and Me, where parents and children cook a meal together in the kitchen. For ages 6 and up, children cook with the aid of instructors. These parties take place in your own kitchen, with What’s Cooking providing staff, tools, and ingredients. A new offering is Deluxe Birthday Parties in the professional kitchen at Pickleweed Park Recreation Center in San Rafael, for children ages 8 and up. More information can be found on their birthday party page at www.whatscooking.info.

The 18-hole miniature golf course at McInnis Park Golf Center in San Rafael offers another fun and interesting party venue. Parties are $10.00 per person and include a round of golf, a reserved table in the picnic area, and pitchers of soda. A snack bar is on site, in case you don’t want to bring your own food. Reservations are required: www.mcinninsparkgolfcenter.com
