Walk for Foster Kids in San Rafael this Sunday

Looking for ways to volunteer with your kids? Join Marin Foster Care this Sunday, May 20, for a fun, family-friendly, stroller-friendly, pet-friendly, one-mile (flat!) walk along the water! Help raise awareness! Fun, face-painting, snacks, music, and a bubble machine will be waiting for you at the end! It takes place starting at 2 pm at 103 Shoreline Parkway in San Rafael (near Home Depot).

Here are the details:

• It's a short walk—only one mile—along the beautiful Shoreline Trail in San Rafael, and many families do it with strollers!
• The walk will go from about 2 to 3:30 pm, with small stops along the way where children who participate pick out little goodies, and a snack will be provided at the end.
• This is a great opportunity to help involve your children in giving back!
• There is also a great chance to meet families in Marin who may have fostered or adopted a child from the foster care system.

Did you know that there is a significant need for support for local foster kids here in Marin? The Marin Foster Care Association (MFCA) is an amazing organization that meets both urgent and supplemental needs, like a bed for a three-year-old who was sleeping on the floor, diapers for a new teenage mom on her own, or the gift of soccer lessons for a kiddo without the means otherwise.

The goal of MFCA is to raise awareness and money to support foster children and their families in Marin County. The funds raised will go towards their Community Resource Center, their Opportunity Fund, and for other social and educational events that the MFCA offers to Marin foster families throughout the year
