Memorial Day Weekend is almost here! Check out our list of 12 fun activities and outings for Memorial Day Weekend in Marin and the San Francisco Bay Area, from a festival celebrating Marin's Greek heritage to a fun family carnival at the Mill Valley Community Center.

  1. Have a blast and raise money for local schools at the annual Kiddo! Carnival in Mill Valley. Tickets on sale now.
  2. Enjoy Greek food, music, culture, and fun at the 2025 Marin Greek Festival.
  3. Take the ferry to Angel Island for a day of hiking and exploring the island's historic sites.
  4. Pick your own organic cherries at Dwelley Family Farms' orchards in Brentwood.
  5. Build a sand castle and picnic at a local Marin County beach.
  6. See a classic movie for only $1 at the Sequoia Cinema in downtown Mill Valley.
  7. Go for a train ride at Sonoma TrainTown (open Memorial Day, 10 am–4 pm). Have a picnic on the Sonoma Plaza after.
  8. Picnic and swim (pool opens Saturday, May 24) at McNears Beach in San Rafael.
