Pet-loving kids can get a hands-on experience with a variety of animals with Marin Humane's 2025 Humane Summer Camps. These popular camps at the Marin Humane campus in Novato teach children important skills in animal handling, care, and welfare. My animal-loving middle-school-age daughter has participated in this camp and she had a fantastic time.

These camps have limited space and are extremely popular. Registration takes place online and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a camp session is full it will be closed.

Online registration will go live on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at noon.

Sessions begin June 23 and run through July 31.

Campers entering 2nd through 6th grade in fall 2025 will experience a wide variety of animal-related activities. All camps feature animal-themed arts, crafts, games, and fun. Camps are divided into age groups: grades 2 and 3 (half-day camp), grades 3 and 4, and grades 5 and 6.

Camps run Monday through Thursday and cost is $395 per session. Scholarships are available for low-income families.

Students entering grades 9 to 12 can apply to be Teen Camp Assistants (TCAs) and earn community service credits by helping young campers with games and projects and assisting camp staff.

Marin Humane is located at 171 Bel Marin Keys Boulevard in Novato. For complete information about these programs, visit www.marinhumane.org.
