Noe Valley Chamber Music's Classical Kids Concert: Dawn Harms

This event is expired.

Noe Valley Chamber Music continues its Classical Kids series, a new chamber music program for young children and their families, with violinist Dawn Harms. From the music of Bach and Mozart to contemporary composers, Dawn Harms presents a program that is both hilarious and instructive. You'll hear squeals of delight from the children during her performance of The Hot Canary, complete with yellow-feathered costume. They will be enraptured by the Orange Blossom Special performed by a cowboy in an enormous purple hat and other special tunes performed by Dawn's zany cast of characters. This highly interactive show offers the audience many opportunities to participate. Some may compose music, while others will have the chance to play the violin for the first time.

Doors open half an hour before each show.

The concert lasts approximately 45 minutes, and is suitable for all ages. The performances are designed for preschool and elementary age children.

Coffee, tea and light snacks will be provided.

TICKETS are $15-$40
($15 per person, $40 family pass for up to 4 people Children 2 and under FREE.)

Dawn's varied career ranges from chamber musician, violin soloist, concertmaster, to music director and conductor. She is a member of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, Associate Concertmaster of the New Century Chamber Orchestra, and Co-Concertmaster of the Oakland East Bay Symphony. She also records regularly at Skywalker Studios for movies and video games. She is the Co-Founder and Music Director of the Music at Kirkwood chamber music festival, Music Director and Conductor of the Bay Area Rainbow Symphony and currently serves on the music faculty at Stanford University.

NVCM has been presenting superb chamber music in San Francisco since 1992. We encourage performers to talk informally about their music from the stage, allowing members of our community to experience outstanding concert performances in an informal, yet authentic chamber music tradition.

Tickets range from $15-40 ($15 per person, $40 family pass for up to 4 people, Children 2 and under FREE.).
