"Tweens, Teens, and Social Media" Parent Education Class

This parent education worskshop will focus on the fast-paced world of social media and how to best support tweens and teens in learning to navigate this popular form of communication. We will educate parents on the most popular social media sites including but not limited to: Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, Twitter, SnapChat, Ask FM and even Minecraft. We will provide suggestions of how to monitor your child’s experience on the internet as well as the importance of setting limits around technology and how to do this in a fair and firm manner. This class will also discuss the dangers of cyberbullying and self-harm behaviors associated with social media. We will emphasize the importance of creating open communication with children, tweens, and teens about these issues.
