WildCare Family Adventures: Coastal Clean-up at Muir Beach
This event is expired.
Enjoy a FREE day of discovery and learning out in nature with the family. WildCare naturalists will lead fun family outings with the objective of deepening our commitment to taking care of our planet. To achieve this, WildCare’s Family Adventures groups will be visiting some sites that work to preserve wildlife and our natural environment. Whenever possible, family nature hikes will be incorporated into each adventure to enjoy the local flora and fauna. These programs are in English and Spanish, and free to the public. WildCare strongly encourages carpooling. Contact Marco by calling (415) 453-1000 x17 or marco@wildcarebayarea.org for more information or to reserve space on our free shuttle service from the Canal area of San Rafael.
Join the Coastal Clean-Up at Muir Beach
Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 10:00am-12:30pm
WildCare Family Adventures will participate in the statewide coastal cleanup. Vast amounts of plastic debris litter the world's oceans causing harm to wildlife. Most of this debris comes from land and, if not removed, it will end up in the ocean. On this Family Adventure we will have a little hike on the beach, and take part in this very important cleanup effort. Bring lunch!
Directions to Muir Beach: From Highway 101 take the Stinson Beach/CA1 exit. At the first light, make a left onto Shoreline Highway (Hwy 1). Keep on for 5.7 miles. Turn left on Pacific Way and quick right into the parking lot for the Pelican Inn. We will meet in the parking lot of the Pelican Inn at 9:30am.
