Your Mommy Body

Having a baby affects a woman’s body in many ways. Come learn about those changes from Physical Therapist, Alicia Willoughby, who is also a mom of two little ones. In this workshop you will learn some practical and essential information that all moms should know, which you can utilize immediately to help relieve and/or prevent many of the aches and pains that moms experience. After the lecture portion of the workshop, you will learn and practice essential exercises to retrain your brain’s control of your core muscles to stabilize your body, move with proper body mechanics and feel stronger.
This workshop is appropriate for any mom, with kids of any age, and also pregnant women.
Specifically we will cover:
-how to find your true core muscles
-learn how your core is affected during pregnancy
-learn why you need to address core muscles postpartum
-common posture impairments in moms and learn how to correct them
-proper body mechanics for baby/child care (lifting, carrying, nursing)
-essential every day exercises to care for your mommy body
-handout with covered material and contact information for Alicia
