California Academy of Sciences Reopens This Month!

Favorite family destination the California Academy of Sciences will reopen soon! This science museum, aquarium, and planetarium in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park has been closed since March due to the COVID pandemic, but will open its doors to members on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 and to the general public on Friday, October 23.
To keep visitors safe, the Academy will be running at reduced capacity and timed advance tickets are required. Tickets are available now for members and starting October 14 for the general public. Visitors must wear masks, wash their hands, and stay at least six feet apart from other groups.
Some Academy attractions, especially ones where physical distancing is difficult to maintain or with a high-touch environment, including the Morrison Planetarium, the Naturalist Center, theCuriosity Grove, and Discovery Tidepool will still be temporarily closed. Additionally, some hands-on exhibits will be modified or disabled for public safety. Entry into the Osher Rainforest and the Shake House will be by reservation only; you can scan a QR code on your entry to the Academy to reserve your spot that day.
The Academy will have two special exhibitions on view: Venom: Fangs, Stingers, and Spines and BigPicture: Natural World Photography.
The Academy will be open Monday–Saturday, 9:30 am–5 pm and Sunday, 11 am–5 pm with members-only hours on Tuesday from 8:30–9:30 am and Sunday from 10–11 am. Learn more about their reopening plans and precautions and reserve your tickets at www.calacademy.org/reopening.
