Celebrate the Lunar New Year at the Bay Area Discovery Museum
Say goodbye to the Year of the Dog and welcome the Year of the Pig at the Bay Area Discovery Museum. Bring the whole family to the museum on Monday, February 18, from 9 am to 4 pm, to experience the vibrant traditions of the Lunar New Year and Chinese culture at BADM!
The Bay Area Discovery Museum will be celebrating the magic of the Year of the Pig with a full schedule of programming and performances. Enjoy lion dancers, a kung fu demonstration, a chance to watch master calligraphers at work, traditional Chinese dance, storytelling, and more.
Families can also get hands-on with fun activities including lantern making in the Fab Lab, DIY calligraphy and zodiac puppets in the Art Studios, and Chinese games. There will also be delicious Chinese food for sale.
The BADM's Lunar New Year celebration is included with regular museum admission: $14.95 ages 1 to 64; $13.95 seniors 65+ and babies 6 to 11 months. Museum members are admitted free. Purchace tickets in advance and save time at entry.
The Bay Area Discovery Museum is located at Fort Baker, inside the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, at 557 McReynolds Road, Sausalito 94965. For more information on the museum and its Chinese New Year celebration visit www.bayareadiscoverymuseum.org.
