Children's Fairyland Reopens March 19!

The Bay Area's original kids' theme park, Children's Fairyland, reopens on Friday, March 19, 2021 after being closed due to COVID-19. Fairyland has been delighting children and families since 1950, and features storybook sets to explore, animals to visit, colorful gardens, and more. Fairyland even served as the inspiration for parts of Disneyland!

The help make the park safe for families, Fairyland is operating on a limited basis. That means that their rides, like the Jolly Trolly, puppet shows, storytimes, and other performances are currently on hold. (Rides and live entertainment will recommence once Alameda County reaches the Orange Tier.)

The park is also operating with a limited capacity, with two different daily "shifts" for visitors: 9 am to noon and 1 to 4 pm. It will also be open on a five-day schedule, Wednesday through Sunday. The café is open, too, with a slightly limited menu, and the retail shop is open but limited to one social bubble at a time.

Masks or face coverings must be work by everyone over 3 years old. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the park, and there are new touchless faucets in the restrooms to encourage hand washing. Needless to say, if you feel sick, stay home.

Order tickets in advance online; a very limited number of tickets of daily walk-up tickets are available. Order tickets online here. Admission is $13 for adults and children.

Children's Fairyland is located near Lake Merritt at 699 Bellevue Avenue, Oakland, 94610. Learn more at fairyland.org.
