"Country Nights and Carnival Lights" at the 2025 Petaluma Fair

Summertime is fair time, and the first fair of the season is the Petaluma Fair (rebranded from the Sonoma-Marin Fair) which takes place at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma from Thursday, June 19 through Sunday, June 22. The Petaluma Fair is not quite but almost a county fair, and offers a wide range of fun and exciting attractions, competitions, events, and activities for the entire family. This year's theme is "Country Nights and Carnival Lights." This year's fair is bigger, more community-oriented, and more local than ever.
You'll see livestock shows, exhibits, car shows, the Farm Olympics, sheep dog trials, and even the famous World's Ugliest Dog Contest! Of course there are also traditional carnival rides, a Petaluma-style circus, a BMX stunt show, and numerous attractions and acts, all included with fair admission.
And what would a fair be without live entertainment? This year's fair focuses on local talent and features a wide array of Petaluma bands and other entertainers, including a magic show and storytelling.
As with most fairs, there's a ton of stuff to do and see, so check their website for a complete schedule of activities, concerts, events, and entertainment.
Admission prices include all entertainment, concerts, and carnival rides. Admission at the gate is $25 for adults 13+, $20 for children ages 5–12 and seniors 65+, and free for kids under 5. Petaluma Transit will be offering free rides to the fair, including the on-demand LumaGO shuttle and route 11, which picks up close to the downtown SMART Train station. Both options run until midnight during the fair and are a great way to avoid the parking hassle!
Fair hours are 11 am–11 pm daily. The Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds are located at 175 Fairgrounds Drive in Petaluma, off East Washington Street on the west side of Highway 101.
