Daycare, In-Home or Nanny Share Recommendations

i am new to San Rafael/Lucas Valley and have a 4 month old baby. i am looking for a great daycare for my son in the March 2011 time frame. i would appreciate any daycare, in-home or nanny recommendations for a newborn that you can offer.

I highly recommend Sylvie Clerc at Sunnyside Preschool. My son graduated her program in August. I was very nervous about choosing a childcare provider but I found a second home for a my son at Sunnyside. The classroom is clean and home-cooked meals are provided every day. The program is Montessori style and encourages empowerment and creativity. Really, I can't say enough wonderful things about Sylvie's program.

Thank you for recommending Sylvie Clerc. I looked Sylvie at Sunnyside Preschool up online and the site said that they only accepts babies starting at 15 months of age. My son will only be 4 months when he begins daycare. I will contact Sylvie to see if she has any recommendations. Was your son in daycare prior to 15 months? Do you have any suggestions for infants?

Have you found a caregiver for your son? If not, perhaps I can help. I am the mom of a 10 year-old son, a 6 year-old son and a 4 year-old daughter. Needless to say, I have 'lots of experience with babies. I am a stay at home mom and would like to be around for my kids, so it would be great to have a baby around to care for. My husband and I were relocated to San Rafael from Chicago last August, and we're expecting our first baby on January 6, 2013! Unfortunately we don't have a strong local support system just yet, and we need to find a nanny to help us 3-4 days a week starting in April 2013.
We've heard about Nanny shares, so I'd appreciate any recommendations you have. I understand we need to start our search early, so here I am :)
Please let me know if you have any recommendations, or if you are an experienced nanny yourself, please let me know.

Hi - Our daycare provider, Annie Braun has an opening in Fairfax. She currently takes care of our 13 month old at her home-based daycare. Our now 4 year old daughter also went to her daycare ("Cailyn's Playhouse"), as did several of our neighbors and friend's children. Annie is a treasure and I cannot recommend her highly enough. We are seeking a nanny share for our son who will be 6 months old when I return to work in February. Ideally, we would like to find another family with a child the same approximate age for a Mon-Fri share. My work schedule will most likely be 8 or 9 AM-12 or 1 PM so a part-time share would make the most sense, however, there may be some flexibility in the schedule. We would probably start mid-January so he has time to adjust. We are located in Sausalito.
This would be a wonderful opportunity for the children to have more personalized, affordable care while growing up with a buddy!

We have a nanny share available for this summer M-Thur (8:30-5). You can pick the hours you want and we are very flexible.
PLUS... Starting in September, our Nanny will be available for Tue or Thurs, plus share care on Friday.
Irene is amazing! She has taken care of our son since he was six weeks old (he is 2 1/2 now). She drives, is fluent in english (but speaks spanish to the kids). She is loving, fun, reliable, smart and a mom of 2 herself.
