Hands-on Fun for Fall at Slide Ranch

Goat and children behind fence Slide Ranch

Slide Ranch is a great place for family members of all ages. We tried out one of their family farm days in the past and my kids had a great time petting the sheep planting seeds, milking a goat, and making nature crafts. They offer guided tours and lots of hands-on activities, including milking goats, collecting eggs from chickens, planting seeds, sampling from their organic garden, learning to make crafts and food just like the early farmers, and exploring the nearby tide pools.

Slide Ranch is located off of Shoreline Highway in Muir Beach. Below is a list of their upcoming fall events. Registration is open now! Sign up as soon as possible, as their programs usually sell out way in advance. Slide Ranch members get early access to registration, so consider joining. Fall Family Farm Days

Family Farm Days at Slide Ranch are relaxed 3.5-hour programs that feature a wide range of activities related to the day's theme. Visit chickens and ducks, milk a goat, harvest herbs and vegetables in the garden, take a coastal hike, explore tide pools, and more. Family Farm Days take place from 9:30 am to 1 pm.

Fall Harvest Family Campouts

Slide Ranch's Fall Harvest Family Campouts offer the opportunity to celebrate the harvest season by pitching your tent at the ranch's spectacular campsite overlooking the Pacific! Enjoy sunset bird and whale watching, dinner, a cozy campfire, and a night hike, then wake up and enjoy breakfast before exploring the ranch, meeting animals, milking the goats, touring the garden, judging the ranch's first scarecrow contest, and joining in harvest-themed crafts and activities.

Fall Harvest Family campouts take place on September 26 and 27 and October 17 and 18. Campouts begin at 4 pm on Friday and end at 1 pm on Sunday. Participants must bring their own camping gear, including a tent and sleeping bags. Red flag warnings will cancel campfires.
