Marin Dance Theatre Classes for Young Dancers Now in Corte Madera

Marin Mommies presents a sponsored article from Marin Dance Theatre, with a new second location now open in Corte Madera.

Marin Dance Theatre aims to support the development of the full child while facilitating a love for dance and classes are taught by MDT faculty specializing in early childhood education. MDT provides a nurturing and encouraging environment for your child’s first dance experience. Here are the classes in MDT's Young Dancer Division, for ages 18 months to 8 years, offered at their San Rafael and Corte Madera locations.

  • Grown up and Me (ages 18 – 36 months)
Grown up and Me classes offer a nurturing and encouraging environment for your child’s first introduction to the art of dance. Children experience the imaginative world of dance through rhythms, music, and creativity together with their grown-up.
  • Introduction to Ballet 1 & 2 (ages 3 & 4)
Children in our intro classes experience the imaginative world of dance, independent from their parents, building confidence in movement through musicality and creativity. Classes include stretching, activities to develop coordination and musicality, and creative expression.
  • Pre-Ballet 1 & 2 (ages 5 & 6)
Pre-Ballet classes offer an engaging environment for your child to discover the joy of dance and confidence through rhythmic and spatial patterns, music, and creativity. Our pre-ballet program includes stretching, introductions to basic technical steps, development of coordination and musicality, across the floor work, and creative expression in movement.
  •  Elementary 1 & 2 (ages 7 & 8)
At the elementary levels, students develop initiative and passion for the art of dance through classical training as they connect their creative foundation of movement to a more structured elementary program. Elementary classes begin to focus more on technique and correct body placement, incorporating more technical work at the barre, and introducing the classical structure of a ballet class in an engaging and encouraging environment.
