A Family Stroll along the Corte Madera Creek Path

I rediscovered a wonderful scenic walking path a few weeks ago that is perfect for the babies in strollers or for kids on foot or on a bike. The starts at Creek Park, which is right across from Marin General Hospital. Parking can be a little tricky, depending on the time of the day, but it’s worth the trip. As soon as you get out of your car, you can’t miss the spectacular view of Mount Tamalpais. The nice wide bike path is great for strollers, and follows Corte Madera Creek. The creek has lots of birds, like egrets, blue herons, and black-crested night herons, as an assortment of ducks swimming around in the water, so there’s some nature involved for children to see. The path leads to the College of Marin and on into Ross if you follow it far enough. Again, the path is nice and wide, so you don’t feel like you have to move over every time someone passes you. It’s great for a nice leisurely walk and is perfect for the whole family.

After our walk, we stopped off on Creek Park, which is kind of mandatory, since once children see it, they just have to go there. It’s got a large play are with the requisite swings, slides and climbing structures, as well as an expansive lawn area with picnic tables. There are also restrooms, in case you need them.
