Friday, January 11

Bring the kids (ages 2–5) to Fantastic Fridays: Tree Frog Fun Time, this Friday from 10:00 am to noon. This program is all about toads and frogs. Toddlers will get to meet and interact with Zoe II, a Pacific Tree Frog, and Clark, a Western Toad. Parents and tots will get the chance to make their own jumping frog. Drop-ins accepted on a space-available basis. Saturday, January 12

The Bay Area Discovery Museum is teaming up with World Arts West to present World On Stage. This Saturday at 11:00 am Raices de Mi Tierra presents traditional folkloric dance and music performed by talented dancers wearing a beautiful array of regional dresses. Alcatraz Kidz Tourz: “Pirates, Rebels and Spies.” Pirates in San Francisco Bay? It’s true! Hear the unusual tale of a band of Confederates who became pirates in order to steal California’s gold, and learn about Fortress Alcatraz’s role in the plot. For kids age 5+ and their families. The Children's Theatre Association presents the classic fairytale Jack and the Beanstalk each Saturday (through February 16) at 10:30 am and 1 pm at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco. The performance features humor, songs, delightful costumes, dance routines, and audience participation. For ages 4-9. Museum members $10; Non-members $12.
