Saturday, July 5

  • The Point Reyes Farmer's Market takes place Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm at Toby's Feed Barn. The market features the best this region has to offer: the freshest locally grown organic produce, baked goods, artisan cheeses, olive oils, grass-fed beef products, homemade preserves, oysters, bee products, flowers, locally produced wool clothing, and body care products.   • Experience Tule Elk at the Point Reyes National Seashore. Docents with binoculars and spotting scopes will be on hand at the Tomales Point trailhead at Windy Gap (about 1 mile up Tomales Point Trail) from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm, weekends and holidays, weather permitting.   • On Shaky Ground: Explore the San Andreas Fault and the 1906 Earthquake on the Point Reyes Earthquake Trail on this one-hour ranger-guided walk. It's an easy .6 mile (1 km) walk. 2 to 3 pm. Free. More information: www.nps.gov/pore or (415) 464-5100 x2 x5

  • Experience Tule Elk at the Point Reyes National Seashore. See Saturday's listing.
  • Corte Madera Town Center presents Miss Kitty on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the center court area in front of the Elephant Fountain. The Town Center Corte Madera’s Summer Music Series returns with Miss Kitty who offers a wonderful musical adventure for the entire family. The Town Center is located west off highway 101 in Corte Madera. For more info, call 415-924-2961.
  • The Civic Center Farmers' Market in San Rafael will be happening on Sunday morning from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. They have lots of organically grown produce, breads, eggs, and fresh cut flowers. The live music will include Fred McCarty- Irish and American Traditional Paulette Rene. This farmers' market is a great one to take the kids to.   • Family entertainer Enzo Garcia performs at the Mill Valley Golf Course Clubhouse every Sunday from 10 am to noon. Enzo invites you, your friends, family, and neighbors to join him for a morning of genuine, heartfelt, sing-along family fun. He'll bring his banjo, accordion, guitar, musical saw, and other surprises. All you need are clapping hands, singing voices and dancing feet.   • The free Stern Grove Festival presents New Orleans legend and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Allen Toussaint, along with Trombone Shorty, and Orleans Avenue. Concert starts at 2 pm, but arrive early—space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Children are invited to participate in KidStage activities before the concert from noon to 1:00 pm.
