What's Your Favorite Family Breakfast Spot?

Classic American breakfastI can't think of anybody who doesn't love going out to breakfast. It's a road trip ritual as well as just the thing for a lazy weekend morning. Besides, pancakes and eggs and all those breakfast goodies always taste better at a great breakfast restaurant. So our question to Marin Mommies readers is: What's your favorite Marin County breakfast spot? Restaurants specializing in breakfast are everywhere, from the old standby chains like IHOP to local legends like the Dipsea Cafe. So which ones stand out about the rest?

Joe's Cafe

I like Joe's Cafe on the frontage road in Terra Linda. It's easy to get to and they make a good breakfast. Plus it's nice and spread out and airy inside so you're not all crammed together like at little hole-in-the-wall places.

Golden Egg Omelet House

We like the Golden Egg Omelet House in Old Town Novato. It's been there forever and their omelet's are awesome. Great family place.

The Garden Depot

The Garden Depot in San Rafael is our favorite breakfast spot. They have indoor and outdoor seating. On the weekend they have a veggie benedict that is quite simply the best!

Easy Street Cafe

Our family loves Easy Street! It's located in the Red Hill Shopping Mall in San Anselmo. They have fresh delicious menu items plus a little play area for our 3 kids. They even have a prize basket, the kids loved picking out a prize just for eating breakfast. My husband and I enjoyed a non stressful meal out!

Easy Street Cafe

Have to second the recommendation for the Easy Street Cafe in Redhill Shopping Center (San Anselmo). Great food (although the servings are HUGE), and a play area for kiddos. Tolerant, speedy staff and plenty of high chairs. Love it.

A second for the Golden Egg Omelet House

The Golden Egg is a Novato institution. It's very family-friendly and we've always had a great breakfast or brunch here. It's in Old Town Novato which was recently remodeled and there's lots of great post-breakfast shopping in the area.
