Anyone due in April? New to Marin
We are expecting our first and are fairly new to Marin (moved from SF). We are trying to get info together on babysitters and daycare as well as all the other things needed to prepare. It would be great to get a forum going that is a little more recent with expecting moms.
We just recently moved to Marin from SF and are expecting our 1st in mid-May! We're trying to figure out things like part-time child care, possible babysitting swaps with other parents, and playgroups. Where have people been looking for babysitters and child care/nannies? We're in the very beginning stages of research, but so far we've come across care.com for nannies and Southern Marin Mother's club (haven't joined up yet) for playgroups...
Hi Ladies - I am due May 30 with my first little one! My husband and I moved to San Rafael about 2 years ago from SF. I have been trying to figure out what I am going to do as well about daycare/nanny. I am going to take 4 1/2 months off, but will need someone to watch my little one at least 3 days a week as my mom will be doing 2 days. Are you guys using Care.com or I heard great things about Aunt Ann's in SF. I am also interested in a potential nanny share! After doing some research, a lot of the day cares I know about and have heard good things do not start until 18 months. I have been debating joining Southern Marin Mother's Group as well as I hear they are great with connecting you with other families who have the same age child. Nice to meet you both!!

My husband and I are having a little girl in the beginning of April and I'll be home for 3 or 4 months before going back to work in city.
Are any of you interested in sharing a nanny for the standard work day starting in the summer? We are open to having it at our place which is San Rafael/San Anselmo, swaps days or weeks or dropping her off at the other family's depending on what is most convenient for everyone. There seem to be tons of nanny option on Care.com but I've been told 1) the best nanny's are available last minute so don't start really interviewing until you've had your kid 2) the hardest part is finding another family.
If this sounds like a possible option for any of you - and I'm sure we can work out if our dates don't match up by a month or two - let me know and I'll send you a private message through this site with my email and contact info and we can meet for coffee or something.

We live in Kentfield (near Bacich Elementary, right off Sir Francis Drake), and are considering a nanny share to start once I go back to work in mid-August. Hello! My husband and I also live in Marin and are expecting our first baby in April! I would love to connect with some other expecting moms due around the same time. Maybe we can start a small mom's group and eventually have a little play group with our little ones! I'm also trying to figure out my daycare situation. I have my in-laws babysitting two days a week and will either need daycare/nanny share 3 days a week or potentially 1 if I am able to work part time.
