safe sand?
Does anyone know of a place to purchase safe sand? I'm working on a sandbox for my daughter and have read the articles about the cancer causing particles in regular quartz sand. Scary. I have discovered how expensive the safe sand is and am hoping that someone has found a place that won't be too pricey. I know that in Oregon people can purchase Oregon beach sand..is there such a thing as California beach sand (other than bucket and shovel)?

Thanks Andrew. Do you know if what they carry is like a pea gravel or an actual sand? I've heard that the gravel is a good alternative but it doesn't mold like sand and won't make castles, etc.

AFAIK it's actual river sand. You should give them a call and ask. Last time I worked with it was many years ago but I distinctly remember actually getting real sand like the kind from the beach. Or in this case, a river.
