Nicasio Valley Pumpkin Patch: Fall Family Fun in Marin

Photos: Marin Mommies

Nicasio Valley Pumpkin Patch is back for another fall season of family fun in Marin County! Located in the small West Marin village of Nicasio, this family-friendly pumpkin patch has been a local Halloween tradition for more than three decades.

The pumpkin patch is open seven days a week through Sunday, November 1, and it’s always worth a visit. Hours are 10 am–4 pm Monday through Thursday, 10 am–6 pm Friday, and 9 am–6 pm Saturday and Sunday. We stopped by last weekend to check it out and enjoy some fall fun!

Nicasio Valley Pumpkin Patch offers a wide variety of pumpkins spread throughout an expansive meadow, making it a fun spot for pumpkin picking in Marin. You’ll find everything from classic Halloween jack-o’-lantern pumpkins to white pumpkins, green Italian and Australian varieties, and flat European “Cinderella” squash. This year, they’re once again growing pumpkins right on the vine at the farm!

The farm stand also offers gourds, squash, decorative cornstalks, drinks, and snacks. Pumpkins range in price from $8 to $44.

Nicasio Valley Pumpkin Patch offers plenty of family-friendly fall activities, including farm animals, a hay maze, tractor-drawn hayrides, picnic areas, and educational displays about local agriculture. On weekends throughout October, families can also enjoy live music, pony rides, face painting, a petting zoo, antique tractors and farm equipment, crafts, shave ice, and food from War Pigs Craft Kitchen BBQ, Hank’s Pizza Oven, Cute Coffee, and Silver Shave Ice. Inflatable bounce houses and slides are also offered on select weekends; check the schedule for exact dates.

The rural Nicasio setting is as lovely as ever. An expansive shaded seating area with picnic tables, straw bales, umbrellas, and tents offers plenty of space to relax, enjoy lunch, and take in the beautiful West Marin scenery.

We always have a great time at Nicasio Valley Pumpkin Patch, which is one of the reasons we've been coming here each fall for years. It's a must-visit Marin destination in the fall. For more information, call them at (415) 662-9100 or visit nicasiovalleypumpkinpatch.net.

After our pumpkin patch visit, we stopped in at the Nicasio Valley Cheese Company (located next door near the parking lot), run by the Lafranchi family, who also put on the pumpkin patch. Their Locarno brie-style cheese is one of our favorites!
