The WorldWideWomen Girls' Festival Takes Place at Fort Mason October 15

Girls' Festival

Marin Mommies presents a sponsored article from the WorldWideWomen Girls' Festival, taking place at San Francisco's Fort Mason on Saturday, October 15.

Do you have a daughter, niece, or granddaughter who could benefit from an event just for girls? Bring her along to the WorldWideWomen Girls’ Festival at Fort Mason in San Francisco on October 15 and give her the gift of confidence and empowerment! This event promises to be a game-changing day of exploration, empowerment and fun for thousands of Bay Area girls (of all ages) and their families.

Oftentimes girls are unaware of the incredible wealth of resources available to them right here in the Bay Area. Over 50 organizations that offer such services to girls will be exhibiting and sharing their programs with attendees. Many of these organizations (i.e. Oracle Academy, YWCA, Ignite, Students Stand with Malala, Rise Up) will host engaging workshops, giving participants an in-depth look at their respective service areas. Topics include relationship-building, social change leadership, nutrition, sex & intimacy, teamwork, body image, and managing tough topics like bullying, dating abuse, and human trafficking. Additionally, we’ve partnered with CareerGirls to present an amazing full-day of speed career mentoring. Girls have a chance to gain insight from 40+ very prominent Bay Area female professionals in various fields including medical, public service, business/entrepreneurship, STEM, arts, and entertainment!

The Girls’ Festival also boasts an amazing Maker’s Space featuring everything STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) from some of our top Bay Area innovators (Genentech, Autodesk, FIDM, Techshop, the Girl Scouts, Women in 3D Printing, Biz World, and Blink Lab). In this space, girls will be able to get hands-on experience across a variety of industries and work together to create an art installation.

Plus, our Main Stage will feature multiple local music and dance performance troupes (including 50 girls from the San Francisco Girls Chorus); a very exciting girls fashion show featuring Project Runway designers and young women designers; three inspiring panels—one hosted by Vital Voices and moderated by Jennifer Siebel Newsom and another featuring top female athletes including Brandi Chastain; and a girl entrepreneur contest judged by Mark Cuban of Shark Tank, famed venture capital investor Tim Draper, and GE Ventures CEO Sue Siegel!

Last, but not least, the outdoor sports and activity arena will offer baseball clinics hosted by the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department in partnership with Junior Giants, zumba classes by Athleta, cycling by SoulCycle, soccer clinics by Girls on the Run, nerf archery by the Girls Scouts, and ongoing self-defense classes by Impact Bay Area!

The WorldWideWomen Girls’ Festival is a truly unique opportunity for girls to have fun, learn, be inspired, and leave feeling ready to take on the world. Tickets are only $10, and children under 12 are FREE. Be sure to buy your tickets now at www.worldwidewomenfestival.com/tickets, and tell everyone you know! See you on October 15!
