Pet-loving kids can get a hands-on experience with a variety of animals with Marin Humane's 2026 Humane Summer Camps. These popular camps at the Marin Humane campus in Novato teach children important skills in animal handling, care, and welfare. My animal-loving middle-school-age daughter has participated in this camp and she had a fantastic time.
These camps have limited space and are extremely popular. Registration takes place online and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a camp session is full it will be closed.
Online registration will go live on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at noon.
Sessions begin June 22 and run through July 30. Camps run Monday through Thursday and cost is $398 per session. Scholarships are available for families in need. Campers entering 3rd through 6th grade in fall 2026 will experience a wide variety of animal-related activities. All camps feature animal-themed arts, crafts, games, and fun. Camps are divided into two age groups: grades 3 and 4 and grades 5 and 6.
Teens ages 15 to 18 can apply for a new Humane Summer Camp Internship! This program is a great opportunity for teens to gain experience working with children and animals, and interns will assist camp staff in leading week-long sessions of Human Summer Camp and acting as role models. Internships require a minimum two-week commitment and candidates will go through an interview process and mandatory orientation and coaching sessions.
Marin Humane is located at 171 Bel Marin Keys Boulevard in Novato. For complete information about these programs, visit www.marinhumane.org.
