Bay Area Discovery Museum Outdoor Areas Now Open!

Bay Area Discovery Museum outdoor area

The outdoor areas of Marin family favorite resource the Bay Area Discovery Museum are now open for everyone. Reserve your spot for a day of fun with expanded outside activities at the museum: create a spray bottle painting, prepare treats in the Mud Kitchen, make music on the instrument walk, tackle the obstacle course, and search for Buddy the Butterfly!

The museum is operating at a reduced capacity during the COVID-19 pandemic, so admission is by advance reservation only.

To keep everyone safe and healthy, masks are required for all visitors age 2 and above, hand-washing stations and hand sanitizer will be available, and physical distancing markers are in place at the museum entrance and throughout the outdoor areas. The BADM staff will also be strictly following CDC protocol and sanitizing all equipment every two hours. For more information, visit bayareadiscoverymuseum.org/visit/what-to-expect.

At this time, museum hours are Wednesday–Sunday, 9 am–4 pm; closed Monday and Tuesday. Admission is free for members, $14.95 for babies ages 6–11 months and seniors 65+, $16.95 for children 1–17 and adults 18–64, and $2 for EBT card holders. Families can also check out a museum pass for up to 6 admissions at their local branch of the Marin County Free Library. Make your advance reservations online here.

The Bay Area Discovery Museum is located at 557 McReynolds Road in Sausalito, at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge.
