Clean and Green for Back to School—Win a Clean Conscience LunchPacker!

lunchpackers and lunchkinsWhile reusable bags are a great idea that cuts down on waste, not all of them are created equal. Local Marin company AAH HAA! Inc.'s line of Clean Conscience bags don't just take the place of disposable shopping and lunch bags, but are made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles, and are (amazingly, in this day and age) made in the USA! Also, unlike many eco-friendly bags out there, Clean Conscience bags are available in fun designs and colors, not just the plain-vanilla unbleached look.

AAH HAA! Inc. was founded by Corie Thornton, the company's "Clean and Green Designer." She's passionate about her mission to not only help clean up the environment, but to provide affordable, good looking, and functional American-made recycled products. “Trash is a terrible thing to waste,” says Thornton. “We’re un-wasting, recycling, and up-cycling plastic trash to convert them into beautiful and durable products that consumers can enjoy. Otherwise, all of the plastic we use in our products would end up in landfills, and plastic remains in landfills for hundreds of centuries before it even begins to decompose.”

The Clean Conscience line offers a wide array of bags, including their Rodeo Drive Shopper (made from 8 plastic bottles), their classic tote-bag like Suburban Shopper (7 plastic bottles), and the stylish Pebble Beach Day Tote (5 bottles). They also offer custom printed bags, recycled cotton canvas totes and shopping bags, and home accessories like napkins and tablecloths made from recycled materials.

For back to school, their cool LunchPacker soft lunch bag is especially appealing. Made from 3 plastic bottles that would otherwise be in a landfill somewhere, this eco-friendly tote is larger than most soft lunch bags (8-1/4" wide x 13" high x 6" deep) and folds up easily when not in use. A velcro closure keeps lunch items in place, and it's washable. The LunchPacker retails for $16.

Clean Conscience also offers LunchKins, neat lightweight cloth napkins made from 100% cotton fabric remnants. LunchKins involve no plastic, no tree products, and no waste, and, like the Clean Conscience bags, are made in America. LunchKins are available in various patterns and colors, and also in kid-friendly sports prints. Measuring 17" x 20", they retail for $16 for a set of 4. It's the perfect addition to your child's (or your own) LunchPacker!

Clean Conscience products can be purchased locally at Woodlands Market in Kentfield, and online at www.cleanconsciencegoods.com.
